Transport Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
To ensure sufficient cane is delivered to the Factory for milling, ensure cane is efficiently loaded in the fields.
Farmers’ cane should not remain on the ground after loading trailers, ensure cane is delivered while fresh to the Factory for optimum sugar recovery, ensure drivers properly operate tractors and fuel thefts stopped/surcharged for excess fuel usage, ensure high discipline among staff under him, submit daily performance reports and co-ordinate with Harvesting and Factory Production (milling) in determining levels of cane delivery to the Factory.
Skills and Specifications:
Should be holder of Bsc. Degree in Agriculture Engineering with minimum 5 years experience in Transport operations, Diplomaholder in Agriculture Engineering/Farm Management with over 5 years experience in sugar industry, Certificate/Diploma in Transport Management, Good Labour Management experience in managing large work force and Public Relations with emphasis in dispute resolution.
The person should be able to manage a fleet of over 80 tractors.
Field Workshop Superintendent
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement Tractor maintenance plans, inspect unit preventive maintenance and repairs at the workshop, raise new job cards for unit service and repair orders as per the maintenance schedule, approve acquisition of spare parts from the central stores, and Manage a staff of not more than 20 employees.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes:
A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, experience and knowledge in repair and maintenance of tractors, generators and motor cycles, must possess analytical ability to diagnose problems quickly and accurately, mature person with high level of discretion and unquestionable integrity, excellent communication skills, must be able to keep proper records and minimum 5 years work experience in a similar position.
Cane Development Superintendent
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage, co-ordinate and recruit farmers, ensure that the farmers get the planting materials, ensure timely land preparation, co-ordinate and supervise timely supply of farm in-puts, Manage and ensure proper crop husbandry is carried out by the farmers, ensure that the acreage targets are attained and maintain proper register of farmers.
Skills and Specifications: Holder of Bsc. (Agriculture) degree or a Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized institution, must have excellent supervision skills, good communication skills,
extensive experience in the sugar industry, possess a valid driving license, must be computer
literate and teamwork and collaboration is a desirable skill for this position.
Transport Supervisor – 2 Posts
Duties and Responsibilities: Organize effective cane haulage from various farms to the Factory, including achievement of crushing targets, reporting on transportation trends, coverage plans, report and follow up on any farmer’s concerns.
Requirements for Appointment: A Degree or Diploma in Logistics, valid driving license, at least 3 years experience in running of Transportation fleet, good communication skills, computer literate and ability to organize, dispatch and identify tractor transportation fleet problems is an added advantage.
