Sameer Africa-Legal Officer, Mechanical Engineer/ project Eng. & SAP Busines Analyst Job in Kenya

Sameer Africa Limited, a leading tyre solutions provider with office in Nairobi, has exciting opportunities for talented, dynamic, results driven individuals to fill the following roles based in Nairobi :-
1) LEGAL OFFICER
Main Purpose of the Role
To ensure that the Company complies with legal requirements through the provision of efficient legal services.
Reporting to the General Manager, Finance, key accountabilities among others will include:-
  • Developing and overseeing systems that ensure the Sameer Africa Group complies with all applicable codes, as well as legal and statutory obligations.
  • Preparation of minutes of Board and Executive Committee Meetings in a timely manner.
  • Managing the Company’s litigation cases in liaison with external lawyers and offering legal advice and recommendations on wide range of business areas.
  • Drafting, reviewing and vetting all contracts and agreements between the Sameer Africa Group and third parties.
  • Preparing legal opinions, advice and recommendations on all legal matters and attending to all legal correspondence appropriately.
  • Undertake legal research, monitor changes in relevant legislation and regulatory environment and advising the Company appropriately.
  • Maintain the legal register in accordance with requirements of ISO TS / 16949 and keeping track of regulatory and compliance requirement changes.
  • Liaising with the Company’s share registrars on member services including updating, communication and preparation for annual and any special general meetings.
  • Custodian of Group seals, legal instruments and records.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from a recognized institution
  • An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with current advocate’s Practicing Certificate;
  • Must be a Certified Public Secretary of Kenya – CPS (K);
  • A team player with excellent communication, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Business Communication and report writing skills
Minimum 4 years working experience in a commercial environment



2) MECHANICAL ENGINEER/PROJECT ENGINEER
Main purpose of the role
Management and implementation of capital projects in line with business objectives.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, key accountabilities will include:-
  • Participate in capital program planning in Five Year and annual plans
  • Coordinate capital proposals preparation and appraisal
  • Leading in implementation of capital projects from design, scheduling, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and documentation.
  • Supervising contractors undertaking projects and ensuring safety , standards and specifications are adhered to
  • Working with maintenance during planned major jobs and activities during shut down.
  • Conducting training activities for maintenance and users on operation of new and upgraded machines.
  • Carrying out equipment modifications to meet changed process and product specifications including updating of drawings and manuals for future guidance.
  • Standardizing of machine parts and operations to optimize on cost and productivity.
  • Ensuring that all equipment installed in the plant meets health and safety standards, while also observing effective control of environmental pollutants.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bsc Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Project Appraisal , implementation and Management skills
  • Proficiency in Auto CAD will be an added advantage
  • A team player with excellent communication, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 4 year’s experience in a comparable role in a manufacturing concern
Key Deliverable
  • Timely implementations of capital projects
Aim to deliver projects to cost and specification


3) SAP BUSINESS ANALYST
Main purpose of the role
Maintain and manage for optimum utilization of SAP ECC 6.0 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to
support business objectives.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, key accountabilities will include:-
  • Carrying out reviews on SAP utilization and recommending customization based on business requirements.
  • Recommending and ensuring compliance with business policies and procedures relating to SAP.
  • Administering SAP installations, training users and ensuring that all issues related to the system are attended to promptly.
  • Reviewing and creating training and User manuals for various SAP modules
Key Deliverables
  • Maximization of SAP capabilities
  • User training and capacity building
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree from a recognized Institution
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following SAP Modules FICO,MM, SD and PP for a minimum period of one year.
  • Having participated in SAP implementation will be an added advantage.
  • Good training and coaching skills.
A team player with excellent communication, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
