Flight Operations Manager, Flight Operations Inspectors, Flight Training & Pel Examination Inspector and Airworthiness Inspectorn -(CASSOA )- Jobs

The Civil Aviation, Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA) an Institution of the East African Community in Entebbe Uganda, is charged with the responsibility of overseeing the harmonization and operationalisation of the air safety rules and regulations in the East African Region.

Manager Flight Operations

Reports to: Director Standardisation and Regulations

Main purpose of the Job:

To plan, implement, supervise and evaluate the Agency’s flight Operations activities.To coordinate and oversee the implementation of the safety oversight programmes and technical support to Partner States related to flight operations as approved by the Board

Qualification and Experience:
  • A holder of a professional licensed at ATPL level (or equivalent). A degree will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years experience five (5) of which must be in a management or supervisory position with a civil aviation administration, directly associated with the preparation and responsibility for implementation of rules, regulations, operating manuals, flight and ground procedures deemed necessary for flight safety, inspection and certification.
  • Considerable flight crew experience as pilot-in-command on modern, turbine engine aircraft or substantial experience as a Flight Operations Inspector with ratings in modern, turbine engine aircraft preferably of type operated in the region. 5000 hours of flying experience with a demonstrable experience in an international airline operation of at least of 1,000 hrs minimum.
  • Experience in the preparation, approval and use of Flight Operations Manuals and other flight operation documentations including flight training and checking programmes.
Skills and Competences:
  • Knowledge of legal responsibilities and administrative procedures for the issuance of documents under State of Registry approval relating to supervision of flight operations.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for personnel licensing systems, and of the training, and maintenance of competency of flight and ground crews concerned with flight operations.
  • Sound knowledge of EAC Harmonised Civil Aviation Regulations and Technical Guidance Materials.
  • Sound knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and related documentation.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in computer use and general IT applications.
  • Good interpersonal skills, high degree of integrity.
  • Good knowledge in Air Operator Certification procedures.
2. Flight Operations Inspectors

2 Positions

Grade: P3

Reports to: Manager Flight Operations

Main purpose of the Job:

The main responsibility of this position is to assist Partner States to carry out efficient and effective flight operations safety oversight activities with the objective of enhancing safe operation of aircraft in compliance with national/regional and international standards.

Qualification and Experience:
  • Holds or have held an airline transport pilot license with one or more type ratings, preferably on large aircraft (above 5,700 kg MTOM) commercially operated in the region.
  • A holder of university degree will be added advantage.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years experience three (3) of which must be in management or supervisory position in an airline or with an aviation administration, directly associated with the preparation and responsibility for implementation of rules, regulations, operating manuals, flight and ground procedures deemed necessary for flight safety, inspection and certification.
  • Considerable flight crew experience as pilot-in-command on modern, turbine engine aircraft or substantial experience as a Flight Operations Inspector with ratings in modern, turbine engine aircraft preferably of type operated in the region. 5000 hours of flying experience.

Reports to: Manager Flight Operations

Main purpose of the Job:

The main responsibility for this position is to coordinate the development of a regional personnel licensing examination system and assist Partner States to ensure that aviation training organisations are compliant with the national/regional standards reflected in the harmonised civil aviation regulations.

Qualification and Experience:
  • A holder of a professional licensed at ATPL level (current or lapsed).
  • An academic qualication of a university degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant work experience.
  • Possession of or had possessed flight instructor rating.
Skills and Competences:
  • Knowledge of the requirements for personnel licensing systems, and of the training, and maintenance of competency of flight and ground crews concerned with airworthiness.
  • Sound knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and related documentation.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in English language to level 5.
  • Proficiency in computer use and general IT applications.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with colleagues and maintain harmonious working relationship in a multinational environment
  • High degree of integrity.
4. Airworthiness Inspector (Avionics)

Grade: P3

Reports to: Manager Airworthiness

Main purpose of the Job:

The main responsibility of this position is to assist Partner States to carry out efficient and effective airworthiness safety oversight activities with the objective of enhancing safe operation of aircraft in compliance with national/regional and international standards.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A holder of a University Degree in relevant field e.g. aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic or telecommunication. An aircraft maintenance engineer’s license with ratings or appropriate approvals.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years experience three (3) of which in management or supervisory aircraft avionics/Mechanics experience, directly associated with the preparation and responsibility for implementation of rules, regulations, airworthiness and flight operation related manuals deemed necessary for flight safety, inspection and certification.
  • Considerable aircraft maintenance experience of not less than five years on modern, turbine aircraft or five years experience as an airworthiness inspector qualified on large (above 5,700kg MTOM) modern, turbine engine aircraft preferably of type operated in the region.
Skills and Competences:
  • Knowledge of legal responsibilities and administrative procedures for the issuance of documents under State of Registry approval relating to supervision of airworthiness.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for personnel licensing systems, and of the training, and maintenance of competency of flight and ground crews related with airworthiness operations.

General Manager Information Communication and Technology (ICT)-Kenya Airports Authority (KAA)- Job Vacancy in Kenya

Our client the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) is mandated to provide infrastructure for aviation services between Kenya and the outside world.

Other key functions of KAA include the administration, control and management of aerodromes, provision and maintenance of facilities for efficient operations of aircrafts and the provision of rescue and fire fighting equipment and services.

KAA seeks to strengthen its senior management team by recruiting an experienced and dynamic professional to fill the position of General Manager Information Communication and Technology (ICT).

The key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Develop and maintain corporate policies and standards aimed at maximizing effectiveness and minimising costs related to the acquisition, implementation and operation of IT systems;
  • Develop and monitor the approved annual operating and capital budgets for information and technology systems;
  • Develop and enforce policy and procedures to ensure the protection of the airport’s IT assets as well as the security and privacy of information;
  • Develop and maintain the systems architecture, defining standards and protocol for data exchange, communications, software and interconnection of the airports’ information systems;
  • Research on emerging information and communication technologies and airport solutions to ensure appropriate ICT investment;

  • Ensure that all information systems and networks operate according to internal standards as well as external accrediting agency standards, regulatory agencies and legal requirements.
We are looking for a self-motivated, organised and efficient individual who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or Information Systems and a relevant Masters degree.

The ideal candidate will also have at least 15 years experience in ICT, 10 of which are in a senior
management position. IT management certification in hard ware or software (MCSE, MCCP, ITIL, Prince, PMP and/or, CISA) from a recognised body as well as knowledge of a Quality management system (ISO) is desirable.

 Job Requirements
AB INITIO SELECTION PROCESS
