Chief Supply Chain Management Officer 

1 Position

Scale 4 

Water Resources Management Authority (WRMA) is a state corporation established in July 2005, under the provision of the Water Act 2002 of the Laws of Kenya.

The Authority is a non-profit, service oriented corporate body under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation. It is charged with the responsibility of providing leadership in the management of water resources countrywide. It is also subject to the State Corporations Act which guides all state corporations in Kenya.

The Authority wishes to fill the following vacant positions with dynamic, result-oriented and self driven individuals;

The Position

The officer will be head of procurement and will report to the Finance & Administration Manager for management of the unit

Key Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve;
  • initiating policy on procurement;
  • conducting market research;
  • preparation of procurement plans;
  • assisting in reviewing, updating, interpreting and implementing existing supplies policies, regulations and procedures;
  • disposal of unserviceable stores;
  • preparation of procurement plans;
  • sourcing for suppliers; stock control, stock taking and stock audit.
Qualifications & Experience

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Served satisfactorily in the grade of Senior Supply Chain Management Officer or in a comparable position in a reputable organization for at least four (4) years;
  • A Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Supplies Chain Management) or Business Administration or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and a Master's Degree in Supplies Chain Management, Business Administration or their equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies Level 6 or higher;
  • Computer application skills;
  • Shown merit and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
  • Upheld very high standards of integrity in previous appointments;
  • Ability to initiate cost saving measures in procurement activities without compromising quality of goods and services;
  • Be familiar with procurement regulations.

Supply Analysis and Contracts Manager-(Safaricom Limited)- Job in Kenya

Supply Analysis and Contracts Manager

Ref: FIN –SACM– OCT11

Reporting to the Senior Manager-Business Contracts and Performance, the job holder will be responsible for using modeling tools to develop supply chain and network analysis; build forecast through collaboration with relevant suppliers and departments; manage analysis of specific products and services as well ensure order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement policies and procedures for preparation, administration and review of contract/ trial contracts as per company policy;
  • Implement and maintain a contract management framework based on different categories of goods and services.;
  • Monitor and report adherence to policy and procedure developed for all Contracts and SLA’s with all stake holders;
  • Monitor and administer the business provisions of the contracts to ensure compliance with commercial contractual terms and conditions;
  • Establish, negotiate, and manage with vendors, qualitative and quantitative commercial targets and other goals, objectives, and service levels;
  • Monitoring of vendor performance against set criteria to ascertain the level of delivery and compliance to contracts in order to achieve service improvement and cost reduction;
  • Identify and develop sourcing and cost reduction opportunities to lower costs and improve performance by managing and providing statistical trends and spend analysis;
  • Develop the supplier profiles;
  • Perform cost analysis to drive cost reduction opportunities;
  • Perform industry research and analyze pricing/market trends and give recommendations to improve supply chain;
  • Evaluate controls and implement procedures that ensure integrity of the data;
  • Assist in the strategic commodity negotiation process;
  • Develop and maintain a pricing and supplier performance evaluation matrix to be applied to specific contracts across the scope of the supply chain section.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A university graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Technology, Engineering, Business or related field from a recognized university;
  • A graduate diploma Qualification in supply Chain management preferably CIPS level 6;
  • At least 5 years experience in operations or supply chain environment with responsibility for purchasing or supply chain operations management;
  • Excellent skills and experience in working within an ERP environment ;
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented with excellent follow-up skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to influence and make decisions;
  • Good customer service skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Position: Supply Chain ERP Business Analyst

Description:

The Supply Chain ERP Business Analyst based ¡n Nairobi, Kenya will serve as a team member responsible for strengthening ERP within a medical supplies agency.

The ERP Business Analyst will support the Supply Chain Lead, and the team to successfully execute all activities related to strengthening supply chain tools, business processes and ERP capabilities.

The role will cover all Supply Chain streams such as Procurement, Inventory Management, Warehousing and Distribution; as well as integration with financial modules. This project is fast-paced, dynamic and demanding. Candidates should be able to perform under pressure and be proactive.

Key duties include:
  • Perform process and data analysis to strengthen KEMSA’s ERP and Supply Chain tools
  • Develop detailed documentation of Supply Chain processes, activities, tasks, roles & responsibilities, and requirements
  • Perform ERP/systems gap analysis
  • Support Supply Chain Lead and other supply chain advisors during engagement with stakeholders to strengthen KEMSA’s ERP
  • Develop specifications for ERP optimisation, work closely with developers for system optimisation and facilitate user acceptance testing
  • Develop training material and execute training on ERP, business processes and procedures
Required qualifications include:
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain management, with specific subject matter expertise and experience in ERP and Supply Chain system implementations.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing process flow diagrams using tools such as Visio.
  • Development of standard operating procedures and organizational policies and tools
  • Strong experience performing highly complex data analysis related to ERP systems
  • Minimum five years experience and proven track record in ERP implementations and optimisation, preferably with health supply chains
  • Masters degree in related field is required.
  • Candidate must be proactive and be able to seek information, evaluate ERP supply chain systems, provide concise recommendations and implement solutions in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong experience in technical writing and communication is an added advantage.
